Hi all,
I have been seeing more and more articles in the news about the dangers of Vaping. Our teens seem to think that Vaping is safe but they are unaware that it is not regulated (that means they can put whatever in there, as there are no regulations to follow). Vaping is still relatively new so it makes sense that we are only now starting to see the scary effects. We have our first illness related to Vaping here in Canada: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/middlesex-london-heatlh-unit-vaping-respiratory-illness-1.5288065?fbclid=IwAR0mmwj7nnTUO8aT8f4lrMVLsxvpFLgqDVcIZ2sP_WJfHGcZeSqKYvz9mGs But there has been concern before: https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/e-cigarette-vaping-illness-explainer-1.5280386?fbclid=IwAR05fydogbQ4gkp4IMmEPg1r2SfKPFsIs-SR2DyKF8_mavXuca-0cYYzoQg It is important to talk to our kids about this as it is so common, and with flavors like "Candy Crush", "Lemon Tart", "Strawberry Watermelon", "Surf Cake", "Unicorn Milk" it is easy to see the disconnect between vape juice and health risks. In fact, some youth are starting to speak out: https://www.ladbible.com/news/news-teenager-whose-lung-collapsed-is-urging-people-to-stop-vaping-20190807?fbclid=IwAR19dBqjJuHg07ym0T-lG-qYB7aSiArmbvPWJGpFpQG5jnILeVrwx1pUHTQ ~Michelle
